ITLA Keynote Urges Lawyers To Adopt Disruptive Technologies

Technology consultant Scott Klososky was preaching to the choir when he recently addressed the International Legal Technology Association’s (ITLA) 36th annual educational conference. In his keynote speech, Klososky urged the legal industry to embrace the potential of new technologies and to achieve mastery of these tools.

“Technology mastery will be a differentiator, Klososky said. “If you do it right, it will create an environment where the organization will flourish.”

Which begs the question: How to “do it right?” Klososky prescribed a model that included competitive goals, well-defined metrics, repeatable processes and a shift in how legal professionals should think and adapt to the new technology environment.

32 Students Enrolled In Nation’s Newest Law School

With it’s $15 million facility now opening its doors, the Indiana Tech Law School is officially engaged in welcoming an inaugural class. The most recent count has 32 students admitted — only about a third of the school’s first-year target of 100.

The new school intends to differentiate itself through a program focused on experiential and collaborative learning — and an emphasis on legal ethics and professionalism. “I think the fact that there are 30 or more students willing to take a chance on this type of education even before we are accredited suggests we have a product that has some interest,” said Dean Peter Alexander.
